A Young Foodie’s Take on Pahadwali’s Fiery Himalayan Salt
🛋️ From a Lazy Weeknight to a Gourmet Meal in 12 Minutes
Hi, I’m Aashi — 28, full-time digital marketer, part-time kitchen adventurer.
After a long day of meetings and screen time, I barely want to cook. But I’m also a self-proclaimed flavour snob. So, I’m always on the lookout for shortcuts that don’t taste like shortcuts.
That’s when a colleague handed me a tiny glass jar:
Pahadwali’s Zinger Zaika Flavoured Pahadi Salt.
She said, “Sprinkle it over anything — you’ll thank me later.”
She wasn’t kidding.
💥 What Is Zinger Zaika, Anyway?
It’s a bold, fiery flavoured Himalayan salt handcrafted in Uttarakhand using traditional sil-batta grinding. The punch? A zingy combo of:
-
Rock salt
-
Sun-dried ginger
-
Black pepper & red chili
-
Roasted jeera
-
Local pahadi herbs
Perfectly blended. No preservatives. No artificial nonsense.
The moment I opened the lid, the aroma reminded me of my nani’s spice dabba — earthy, warm, and totally addictive.
🥦 Recipe: Spicy Veg Stir-Fry with Zinger Zaika Salt
(The 12-Minute Power Dinner You Didn’t Know You Needed)
🍳 Ingredients I Threw Together (for 2 servings):
-
1 cup broccoli florets
-
1 carrot, sliced into thin sticks
-
½ red bell pepper, julienned
-
1 small onion, thinly sliced
-
5-6 baby corn, slit lengthwise
-
1 tbsp sesame oil or ghee
-
1.5 tsp Pahadwali Zinger Zaika Flavoured Salt
-
1 tsp soy sauce (optional)
-
¼ tsp crushed black pepper
-
Sesame seeds for garnish
-
Lemon wedge
🔥 Method (No-Fuss, All-Flavour):
Step 1: Prep & Sauté
I heated a pan with sesame oil, added the onions and let them soften just a bit. Threw in all the veggies and sautéed them on high heat for 5-6 minutes — I like them crunchy!
Step 2: Add the Magic
Turned the flame to low, sprinkled in Zinger Zaika Salt, a pinch of black pepper, and gave it a quick mix. The fragrance? 🔥 Pure pahadi power.
Step 3: Plate & Garnish
Finished with a dash of lemon juice and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Served it as is with brown rice and a side of curd.

🔁 Where Else I’ve Used It

📦 Where You Can Get It
I ordered my second jar from the official Pahadwali website. Their packaging is eco-friendly, and the flavour stays locked in. It’s also available on select artisanal platforms — just search “Buy Zinger Zaika Flavoured Salt Online” and thank me later 😉
